Hawes Road will be closed between Rittenhouse and Ocotillo roads in Queen Creek through late Friday or early Saturday as crews repair six power poles that were knocked over by Wednesday’s storm.
About 4,500 Salt River Project customers were without power for about an hour and a half Wednesday night because of damage to the poles, according to SRP spokesman Jeff Lane. Ten customers remained without electricity Thursday until about 3:30 p.m.
It will take a couple days to repair the poles because four of them were 69 kilovolt lines, which are larger than the power lines normally running through neighborhoods and therefore take a little extra time to repair, Lane said.
