Q.C. and city of Surprise team up for award, cost sharing

With budget crunches affecting cities and towns statewide, Queen Creek and the city of Surprise were recently recognized by the National League of Cities for innovation in cost savings.

When Queen Creek needed an updated software package that was both affordable and customizable, an intergovernmental agreement was entered into with Surprise for use of their customized software solution, Land Information Systems.

Because of the partnership both  municipalities were honored by the National League with an entry into the City Practices Database, a database of more than 6,000 solutions for cities and towns. The database is provided to 18,000 member cities.
